How to Take Treatment

TASIGNA

Taking TASIGNA as prescribed by your doctor

The usual dose is 2 capsules in the morning and 2 in the evening, taken 12 hours apart, with water. Your doctor may prescribe a different dose or frequency of taking TASIGNA® (nilotinib) capsules based on your medical situation.

DO NOT TAKE TASIGNA WITH FOOD

One of the most important things to know about taking TASIGNA is that it should never be taken with food.

Stick to this regimen:

  • Take TASIGNA at least 2 hours after eating
  • Do not eat for at least 1 hour after taking it
  • You may drink water while you are not eating, before or after taking TASIGNA

You may find that it works for you to take TASIGNA as soon as you wake up, and then wait at least an hour to eat breakfast. This way, you will have 12 hours before you need to take your second dose of the day.

Food may enhance your body’s absorption of TASIGNA. If you take TASIGNA with food, it may increase the amount of TASIGNA in your blood in an unpredictable way, possibly to harmful levels. This can cause dangerous side effects such as irregular heart rhythm.
